Finding a topic for my video was the hardest part. Ever since I had my eyes set on taking part in the RACE2SPACE contest, which was in June 2020, I had been looking at various topics that I could talk about. It was challenging because I wanted to tackle a topic that was unique and new, but that would, at the same time, interest me and that I would genuinely enjoy making a video about. During last October, I came across an article in the online Science magazine, with the following title: “After decades, room temperature superconductivity achieved”. This was my first time hearing of superconductivity, so I started looking more into it and I found myself being truly fascinated by these so strange materials that are superconductors. There are so many discoveries that are made every single year and that could shape our future, yet few people are paying attention to them, and I believe superconductivity is one of them. So I chose to make a video about it, to let the few people who’ll watch my video know that the revolution is already taking place, and hopefully inspire them to be part of it.
